An Authentic Antique Map: Not a Modern Reproduction!  

Description:  It is an original engraved antique map approximately 168 years old with original hand coloring as issued. It is from Morse and Gaston's Diamond Atlas: The Western Hemisphere, published in New York by Samuel Gaston, 1857 and edited by Charles Colby. A facsimile copy of the title page is included for documentation. The map was designed by Charles Morse, the son of Jedidiah Morse, an early American cartographper and publisher, and the brother of Samuel Morse, the inventor of the telegraph. The map is not mounted, matted nor framed, being sold as a single sheet as seen in the pic. Overall, a nice antique miniature map that would frame up nicely!

Size: The map image measures approximately 5 by 6 inches (12x15cm)  on a 6 1/4 by 7 1/2" (16x19cm) page

Condition: The map is in Excellent condition for its age with very light tonal aging and original hand coloring as issued, very clean printed on heavy paper with an antique appearance that would frame up nicely. The pics are of the actual map.

Shipping: We only charge one nominal shipping fee and do combine additional maps at no extra costs and gladly refund extra shipping when purchased individually and shipped together, since ebay seems to be demanding immediate payment on some individual transactions. For multiple purchases it is best to use the ebay cart system which will automatically calculate the correct shipping when multiple maps are purchased at once and there is free US domestic shipping on 5 or more maps. International rates apply elsewhere. The map is placed in a plastic sleeve, anchored to a stiff brown paper for support and to prevent edge damage, then shipped in a heavy duty wide shipping tube. 

International Shipping: We only ship insured through the ebay International shipping program and can only ship to the official ebay address on file at the time of purchase, all international orders are insured.

International Customs and VAT Fees: It is the responsibility of the buyer to pay all Customs Taxes, VAT or other fees that may be due upon arrival or throuh ebay.
