THE ROTAX ENGINE WAS OVERHAULED AND INSTALLED IN THIS AIRCRAFT IN JUNE OF 2023 AT ANNUAL, AND ANOTHER ANNUAL WAS PERFORMED JULY OF 2024, WITH 28.3 HOURS SINCE MAJOR ON THE ENGINE.
THIS AIRCRAFT HAS BEEN UPGRADED WITH THE DESIREABLE BALLISTIC RECOVERY SYSTEMS (BRS 6) VLS PARACHUTE RECOVERY SYSTEM!
BOTH THE ROCKET AND THE PARACHUTE WERE NEW PRODUCTION IN 2021, AND ARE VALID WITHOUT OVERHAUL UNTIL 6 2027 (PARACHUTE) AND 6/33 (ROCKET)!

THE CURRENT OWNER DISASSEMBLED THIS AIRCRAFT AFTER THE 2024 ANNUAL, AND SPENT THE REST OF THE YEAR REFURBISHING THE AIRPLANE AND UPGRADING THE AIRFRAME, FABRIC, PAINT, ETC.!
THIS OWNER ONLY PUT 10 HOURS ON THE AIRPLANE BEFORE HE HAD A MISHAP WITH A VEHICLE THAT DARTED ONTO THE RUNWAY AS HE WAS TOUCHING DOWN FOR LANDING.
THE CHALLENGER TOUCHED THE FRONT FENDER OF THE TRUCK ON THE REAR OF THE FUSELAGE, BEHIND THE RIGHT LANDING GEAR, THEN TURNED SLIGHTLY TO THE LEFT, AWAY FROM THE TRUCK AND LANDED HARD ON THE GRASS RUNWAY.
DAMAGE WAS SUSTAINED TO A FUSELAGE TUBE ON THE RIGHT LOWER AFT FUSELAGE, THE LEFT GEAR LEG AND AXLE ARE BENT (BUT THE ATTACH POINT ON THE FUSELAGE TUBING APPEARS UNDAMAGED) AND THE NOSE GEAR ASSEMBLY IS PUSHED UPWARD AND THE FORK IS BENT.
THIS AIRCRAFT HAS A FIBERGLASS NOSECONE, WHICH HAS SOME CRACKING UNDERNEATH DUE TO THE PRESSURE OF THE NOSEGEAR FAILING, BUT IS MOSTLY UNDAMAGED AND FULLY INTACT, SO IT IS REPAIRABLE!
QUAD CITY IS AWESOME WHEN IT COMES TO PARTS AVAILABILITY, AS THE PARTS MANUAL (INCLUDED) SHOWS EXPLODED VIEWS OF EVERY COMPONANT ON THE AIRCRAFT, WITH PART NUMBER!
