The USA track in Detroit saw Senna take his 6th pole position in six races and start what would become an F1 tradition by waving the Brazilian flag during his victory lap. Then, at the Portuguese Grand Prix, despite monsoon conditions, Senna won by over a minute, lapping almost every other driver. His performance at that track in the 97T is remembered as one of Senna’s finest.
