I am offering here a second extraordinary, monumental antiphonary from the 17th century. This is a handwritten liturgical manuscript of impressive size and rarity. The book comprises a total of 142 pages, written on both sides, all of which are completely preserved.
The antiphonary is made of parchment and features elaborate neume notation (Gregorian chant). Many pages are adorned with artistically designed initials, including colorfully illuminated capital letters. This manuscript was used for choral singing and, thanks to its giant letters and musical staves, can be read easily even from a distance.
The original binding is made of solid wood, covered in brown leather and decorated with ornate fittings on the corners and in the center.
This antiphonary is a true collector’s item and is ideal for museums, collectors, lovers of historical church music, or as a unique decorative piece with history.
International shipping is also possible.
