Large 6" Dial with leather presentation case

A fine and rare vintage, functional holosteric barometer made for Thaxter & Brother Boston, MA is in very fine condition for its age and all original (see photos), open faced silvered dial (does have some slight degradation) movement is fully functional keeping accurate pressure readings and in pristine condition. Calibrated in inches with "Stormy, Rain, Change, Fair & Very Dry" nomenclature. All housed in a dark rich patina solid antique brass case with thick all original beveled float glass lens, brass pointer and solid brass hanger loop. Original leather two toned (black & brown) bound velvet lined presentation case with brass clasped closures.

**This is a very rare piece and would make a great addition to your barometer or maritime collection**
