VINTAGE CLASSICAL GUITAR

·         Vintage classical guitar with cartouche inside bearing the following inscription…..”Concert guitars. Firm Prof Dario Aloy-Rome –Via S. 22 c Niccolò da Tolentino Rome year 195”

·         I found something from this maker or luthier on the internet

·         The year 195 is indicated on the cartouche in printed writing. The last number written in pen which must have been from 1950 to 1959 is no longer legible.

·         Probably in the lower part of the cartouche was written in pen the inscription of the luthier "Mario Filippini" of which Prof Daio Aloy was assistant, signature no longer legible((ALOY, Dario Born 1902 Rome Italy. Violinist and builder active since 1928. He obtained maximum success with guitars. Medals awarded in Cremona in 1949. Assistant to Mario Filippini. Signed: 'Filippini Mario' Fabrica di Chitarre / per Solisti e Yazz / Gr. Uff. Prof. Dario Aloy / via S.Nicolò da Tolentino, 22-c. Rome / Year 1949.))

• The soundhole has purfling of various colors, but I can't tell if it's just drawn or inlaid.

• The edges of the table are inlaid with fillets of different colors along the entire perimeter.-. The hole, circular in shape, has a diameter of 87 mm

• The board is intact, has no cracks, the gluing with the band is in excellent condition

• The thickness of the wood of the top measured with the gauge near the hole is 4.2 mm

• The bridge, 18 cm long, is made of wood, in a single piece, part glued to the table and part raised that supports the strings - The bone of the bridge in white material I don't understand if it is in hard plastic or ivory -

• The anchoring system of the strings to the bridge is clearly visible in the photos

The back in two parts glued together is detached in the center along the entire length, while on the upper side of the back with the guitar in your arms, there is a crack with parts not separated from each other of a length of approximately 16 cm. Back and top appear to me to be solid wood, not laminate, and are firmly glued with fascia-

The handle and the headstock are carved from a single piece of wood.

  The fingerboard of reddish wood, glued to the neck, has a thickness of 7….8 mm. The first keys up to the fifth that have worked the most are slightly worn, the other keys are flat. The mechanics are made of brass, the keys for adjusting the tuning are made of gray plastic. At the sight, the neck seems perfectly straight.

• The guitar is equipped with metal strings the three bass plastic the remaining three, it has been tuned and played a bit and the tuning seems to hold well, the strings do not drag on the metal fretboard bars, and they go down easily without effort. I believe it is a guitar capable of playing as it is

Chitarra classica vintage con all’interno cartiglio riportante la seguente scritta ”Chitarre da concerto. Ditta Prof Dario Aloy-Roma –Via S. 22 c Niccolò da Tolentino Roma  anno 195”

In internet ho trovato qualcosa di questo  costruttore o liutaio..

Sul cartiglio è indicato anno 195 scitto stampato.. ultimo numero scritto a penna che doveva essere da da 1950  a 1959,, non è più leggibile-

Probabilmente nella parte bassa  del cartiglio era riportata a penna la scritta del liutaio “Mario Filippini” del quale il Prof Daio Aloy era assistente, firma non più leggibile((ALOY, Dario Nato 1902 Roma Italia. Violinista e costruttore attivo dal 1928. Ha ottenuto il massimo successo con le chitarre. Medaglie assegnate a Cremona nel 1949. Assistente di Mario Filippini. Firmato: 'Filippini Mario' Fabrica di Chitarre / per Solisti e Yazz / Gr. Uff. Prof. Dario Aloy / via S.Nicolò da Tolentino, 22-c. Roma / Anno 1949.))

·         La buca presenta filetti di vari colori, ma non riesco a capire se soltanto disegnati o invece intarsiati.

·         I bordi della tavola sono intarsiati con filetti di colori diversi per l’intero perimetro.-. La buca, di forma circolare, ha un diametro di 87 mm  

·         La tavola è integra, non ha spaccature, l’incollaggio con la fascia è in ottimo stato

·         Lo spessore del legno della tavola  misurata col calibro nei pressi della buca è di 4,2 mm

·         Il ponte ,lungo 18 cm, è in legno,, in unico pezzo parte incollata alla tavola  e parte  rialzata che sostiene le corde-L’osso del ponte in materiale bianco non capisco  se sia in plastica dura o avorio-

·         Il sistema di ancoraggio delle corde al ponte è ben visibile dalle foto

Il fondo in due parti incollate tra di loro è distaccato al centro per tutta la lunghezza ,, mentre nel lato alto del fondo  a chitarra imbracciata, ci sta una spaccatura con parti non allontanate fra di loro della lunghezza di cm 16 circa. Fondo e tavola mi sembra che siano in legno massello, non in laminato, e sono saldamente incollati con la fascia-

Il manico e la paletta sono ricavati da un unico pezzo di legno.

 La tastiera  di legno rossiccio,   incollata  al manico, ha  uno spessore di 7….8 mm. I primi tasti fino al quinto che hanno lavorato di più sono leggermente consumati, gli altri tasti sono in piano. Le meccaniche sono in ottone, i tasti per regolare  l’accordatura, sono in plastica di colore grigio .Alla vista il manico sembra perfettamente diritto-

·         La chitarra è equipaggiata con corde di metallo le tre gravi in plastica le rimanenti tre, è stata accordata e suonata un po’ e l’accordatura sembra che regga bene, le corde non strisciano sulle barrette metalliche della tastiera, e si abbassano facilmente senza sforzo. Credo sia una chitarra atta a suonare così come si trova

·         Lo zoccolo del manico è in due parti incollate

·         Misure:

·         Parte bassa della tavola sotto la buca larghezza maggiore 37,5  cm

·         Parte alta della tavola sopra la buca larghezza maggiore 28 cm

      Larghezza chitarra  nella ristrettezza minima vicino alla buca 24,3 cm

·         Lunghezza della tastiera presa dalla buca  fino capotasto 43 cm

·         Lunghezza del manico compresa la paletta 51 cmm

.          Lunghezza della paletta fino al capotasto 18,5 cm

      ·          Larghezza della tastiera al capotasto 54 mm

·         Larghezza della tastiera al tasto vicino alla fascia 63 mm

·         Larghezza della tastiera all’ultimo tasto vicino alla buca   66 mm

·         Altezza della fascia nella parte bassa del corpo chitarra 95,5 mm

·         Altezza della fascia nella parte alta del corpo chitarra vicino allo zoccolo del manico 90 mm

·         Lunghezza totale della chitarra presa dalla parte del fondo 100 cm

    La chitarra l’ha vista, un po’ al volo in verità,  una persona che un po’ se ne intende, suona la chitarra e si diletta al restauro di queste

Bene, ha mostrato un certo interesse per lo strumento. 

Non riesco a capire i legni con cui è stato costruito lo strumento, non ne sono capace.
