Set of Langrisser III Japanese Telephone cards. Japanese telephone cards were prepaid cards that were used at payphones prior to when cellphones were mainly used. These cards were usually acquired as supplements to magazines, bonuses to in-store purchases, limited-time purchases at events or won in lotteries/campaigns. The first telephone card is a supplement to an issue of GAMEST, a Japanese gaming magazine, for the SEGA Saturn release of the game in 1996. There was a misprint on the initial printing batch of the GAMEST card, where the names Tialiss & Sophia were switched. This card is not the misprint, the names are in their correct positions. The second telephone card was an in-store bonus for people who purchased a copy of Langrisser III when it came out on PS2 in 2004. There were three major retailers at the time that did these promotions: Sofmap, Medialand, & Messe Sanoh. I'm unsure of which store gave this out as a purchase bonus, but I know its not Sofmap, so I think it was either from Medialand or Messe Sanoh.
Both of these cards have never been used. The first is in very good condition -- there are no notable scratches, dents or creases on the front or back. The second card is also in very good condition -- the front is smooth with no scratches or dents. The back of the card does have some stubble, which seems to look like a manufacturing error, but I am not entirely sure. The stubble does not seem like it is from an external source, but rather is apart of the card.
Both cards will be placed into their own penny sleeves and top loaders, and then into a slab sleeve. They will be sandwiched between cardboard to prevent any creasing during shipping.
If you love to collect for Langrisser, then these cards would be a really cool & unique addition to your collection!
