Vintage hand carved wooden sculpture from Africa: large, elaborate and detailed creation, elephant fighting off an attack by two lions. This carving is about 17.5” tall, 14” long, 8” wide. Created from an exotic dark wood with black ebony stain. The inset tusks of the elephant are missing. Highly detailed creation, captures the wild and fierce expression of the struggling lions and the enraged elephant. The damage I find is a very small chipped ear on the lion, the Ebonized stain is chipping, missing white paint on the toenails and a little on the eyes of the elephant . May have a few tiny specks of white paint. Needs to be dusted or cleaned. This sculpture is very large and heavy weighs an about 16.52 pounds.
